FATE Foundation depends entirely on support from our community and from others outside the community to fund the FATE Scholar Award and our other programs. Today, much of that support has grown to include the generosity of individuals and organizations who would like to make an investment in tomorrow’s future. We are committed to a belief that education is the foundation that can begin to resolve even the most challenging issues and offers a very real path out of poverty and toward prosperity.

The idea of attending college is no small leap for many of our kids. Many have grown up in an environment where just finding a job to help support their family is more realistic than attending college.
Our goal is to help them imagine a different future and to give them the tools and support they need to make it a reality.
Madison schools recently ranked 13th highest in North Carolina and 3rd highest in the Western Region out of 115 school systems. This is the highest in the history of Madison County Schools and we are proud of the hard work of everyone involved with our school system. In 2021, Brush Creek Elementary was awarded the National Blue Ribbon Award for its overall academic performance and was the lone Western North Carolina school recognized. Madison County is very rural and has little industry. Considering the high level of poverty in our county, it is a major accomplishment to see such high student achievement.
Most of the activities to which we give in our lives stop when we stop... but, our families go on... young life goes on and matures and gives birth to other lives.
